"Avenue Q" is the smash-hit Broadway musical about real life in New York City, as told by a cast of people and puppets through a hilariously irreverent comedy. The show comes to Center Stage at the Jewish Community Center, April 11 - 28, 2013 (varied days/times).

Tickets are $18 in advance or $20 at the door. For information and tickets, call (502) 459-0660 or go online at www.CenterStageJCC.org.

Avenue Q tells the story of Princeton, a bright-eyed college graduate who moves to NYC with big dreams and a tiny bank account. The only apartment he can afford is way out on Avenue Q, where everyone's looking for the same things he is: a decent job, a stable relationship and a "purpose." Eventually, Princeton learns to embrace the ups and downs of city life and realizes that "the real world" isn't so bad, after all.

Avenue Q features music and lyrics by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx, book by Jeff Whitty, based on an original concept by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx.

"Avenue Q is one of the funniest shows I have ever seen. Its irreverent comment on today's society is tongue and cheek and teaches us that a sense of humor can help us all get through life," says CenterStage Artistic Director, John R. Leffert. "Sometimes I think we take ourselves too seriously. This smart musical is a perfect satire from which we all can learn. With songs like Everyone's a Little Bit Racist, The Internet is for Porn, It Sucks to be Me, how can you go wrong?"

Bringing to life the fun, furry characters who live on Avenue Q are Jordan Price (Princeton/Rod), Katie Nuss (Kate Monster) and Brian Morris (Nicky, Trekkie Monster).

Due to mature themes, adult language and full-puppet nudity, Avenue Q is inappropriate for children. Parental guidance is advised.

Performances are April 11, 13, 18, 22, 25 and 27 at 7:30 p.m. and April 14 and 28 at 2 p.m. and April 21 at 2 and 7 pm.
