Ghost Road presents The Unraveling, conceived and directed by Katharine Noon, artistic director of The Ghost Road Company, and devised in workshop with the Ghost Road ensemble and guest artists.
Inspired by the mythical character of Circe, this contemporary piece centers around an aging Classics professor, who feels increasingly disconnected from her students and the world. Her building frustration leads to her spectacularly crossing a line. In the aftermath she escapes from society and isolates herself on the side of a remote mountain. An isolation that is about to be destroyed by the arrival of a young grieving video gamer.
The Unraveling brings together Ghost Road’s trademark poetic language and movement techniques with various other elements ranging from video games, Appalachian and Scandinavian-influenced folk music, puppetry and more to tell this modern story of family and loneliness, of solitude and friendship.
Broadwater Mainstage is at P.O. Box 2323 Culver City CA 90230, Hollywood, CA.
