This forthcoming two-day event with Dogs + Theatre = A Winning Combination! The Montalbn Theatre in Hollywood is proud to present The Great Homecoming, L.A.s first musical pet adoption event, happening on Saturday, September 10 and Sunday, September 11, 2022. Produced by humans behind the award-winning new musical Pup! A Chew Story, in association with local animal rescues, this will be a truly unique, large scale pet adoption event. Stepping outside the box of everyday adoption events, The Great Homecoming will provide adoptions during the day and entertainmentin the form of a live concert-style reading of Pup! A Chew Storyat night. Tickets cost between $27 and $40 each. Afterwards, there will be a mixer (Saturday only), a Pup! A Chew Story performance with several prize giveaways, and on Sunday, there will be a closing night party on the rooftop. A Chew Story is a new musical that speaks to the power of friendship between a tripawd pit bull and his chew toy, as they search for their own forever home in Hollywood. It will be presented as a concert reading performance with a six-piece band that includes several local high schoolers who are receiving a firsthand education in how to develop a new musical. Pup! A Chew Story has the distinction of being selected Top 8 by the National Alliance of Musical Theatre in the United States. The creators will head to New York City to accept the honor at the 34th Annual Festival of New Musicals happening this October 2022.
