Eleven-year-old Jonas seems to live in a perfect world. There is no war, or fear, or pain. But there are also no choices. Every person is assigned a role in the community. When Jonas turns 12, he is chosen for special training to receive and keep the memories of the community. This moving adaptation reveals the power of taking control of one’s own destiny.
