Organizers of the Young Entertainer Awards (YEA) plan to move forward with the organization’s 9 th annual awards ceremony on Saturday, January 18,despite the disruption to the film and television industry caused by devastating wildfires across the region. The program is scheduled to take place at the El Portal Theatre in North Hollywood beginning at 5:00 p.m., with Red Carpet arrivals and doors opening at 3:30. “Many productions have understandably shut down, but we want to provide some escape to the nominees and their families who are able to attend and give them a positive experience in the midst of so much turmoil,” said Alitzah Wiener, (YEA co-producer and president.) “Barring unforeseen circumstances or wildfires spreading toward North Hollywood, the show will go on. ”
