Let’s face it, Shakespeare is pretty hard to beat, but in Something Rotten!, two brothers of the Renaissance give it a go. Something Rotten! is a 10-time Tony-Award nominated musical extravaganza and it’s coming to the Historic Civic Center Theater in CORONA September 6 – 15th, 2024.

In the untold story of Shakespeare’s greatest competition, this hilarious musical comedy follows brothers Nick and Nigel Bottom on their creative journey. Thanks to a vision from Nostradamus’ nephew, the brothers discover that the next big thing in theatre involves singing, dancing and acting – all at the same time. While the struggling playwrights are stuck in the shadow of the Renaissance rock star William Shakespeare, their big dreams lead to the invention of today’s musical theatre and a whole lot of off-stage shenanigans. The rest is musical theatre history!  Something Rotten! is influenced by Broadway’s most iconic musicals, while also poking fun at them.

“Something Rotten! is a hilarious comedy, with a great book, amazingly fun songs and huge dance numbers,” says OBCTheater’s director, Amanda Kalkanis.   “Our artistic team has been dreaming of doing this show since we first saw it tour and waited till we could bring it to our stage with the perfect cast and creative team.  This show will not disappoint and delivers passion, heart and unending laughs.”

The professional cast has many familiar faces to OBCTheater and Inland Empire audiences, including: Adam Granados as Shakespeare; Wyatt Buckle as Nick Bottom, Camryn Hamm as Portia; Marcel Almirantearena as Nigel; Amanda Kalkanis as Bea, Robert Hoyt as Brother Jeremiah and Zachary Smart as Nostradmaus.  Rounding out this powerhouse cast are Katie Archbold Andrs, Nate Beals, Lorenzo Flores, Kellen Ford, Audrey Gall, Shawn Hart, Tylor Jenkins, Kyle Robert Kopp, Krista McClean, Radames Montes, Ali Naim, Tania Nelson, Alycia Thomas, Mary Thomas, Nathanial Vogel, Jacob Webb, Alex Wersen.

From the Original reviews of the show: “With its heart on its ruffled sleeve and sequins in its soul, Something Rotten! is an uproarious dose of pure Broadway fun and an irresistible ode to musicals — those dazzling creations that entertain us, inspire us, and remind us that everything’s better with an exclamation point!”

“A DELIRIOUSLY ENTERTAINING new musical comedy that brings down
