In their most ambitious project yet, Electric Company Theatre is producing not one, but two Shakespeare plays under the stars: Twenty-two actors will play seventy-nine roles in Romeo and Juliet and Shakespeare in Love. Audiences will be able to enjoy picnics and drinks in The Muck outdoor amphitheater while watching the same company of actors perform both plays on alternating nights. Shakespeare in Love is the stage adaptation of the Academy Award-winning film, following a young Will Shakespeare who is plagued by writer's block until he meets a new muse in disguise and their passionate love affair becomes the basis of the very play he is writing - Romeo and Juliet. Both shows will be directed by ECT Artistic Co-Founder and Co-Director Brian Johnson with choreography by Nathalie Agredano Wutkee. Tickets and more information are available at electriccompanytheatre.org.
