This outside San Pedro Festival of the Arts is made possible in part by a grant from the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs. SAN PEDRO FESTIVAL OF THE ARTS (previously the TriArt Festival) announces Year 16 The SAN PEDRO FESTIVAL OF THE ARTS (formerly the SP TriArt Festival) is a free family event and is all DANCE this year. A unique feature will be called 2 Moves where the performing artists will share 2 Moves from their dance for the audience to learn, so they will be have a chance to experience some of the nuances of the piece. This will be before and between every three dances and those in the audience who wish can learn and dance on the lawn and return to their chairs or blankets to watch the next dances. As in the past, there will also be a free raffle drawing during the performance.

Ten years ago, the TriArt Festival moved to Ports O' Call Village helping to draw in thousands of new spectators, performers, and vendors to showcase San Pedro as a center for art. Because of construction on the festival then moved to a location across from the USS Iowa, Port of Los Angeles, and now comes to a new location at Peck Park. Last year it was both Virtual and live, and this year returns live with a performance that will be streamed for 2 weeks following. Original founder, Joe Caccavalla, envisioned the dance, music, and visual arts/ crafts as the heart of the festival to foster art appreciation. After his death in 2012, the producers reformed as SAN PEDRO TRI ART Festival and since then our audience attendance has multiplied along with increased recognition. It has become best known for its dance performances, which is again the focus this year. Our company, Los Angeles Choreographers & Dancers (LA C&D), had previously been the non-profit fiscal receiver for the festival, and we applied for and received a festival grant from the Department of Cultural Affairs, City of LA, which is still one of our major funders. Louise Reichlin, Director of Los Angeles Choreographers & Dancers, is Executive Producer and Dance Director, and curates by committee a diverse range of companies from a large competitive group of applications, this year including ballet, modern, jazz, contemporary, and specific and fusion ethnic groups. Included are both professional and pre professional dance companies so they can share their work with each other and the community. For further information email her at louisehr@lachoreographersanddancers.org.

Los Angeles Choreographers & Dancers is supported, in part, by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors through the Los Angeles County Department of Arts and Culture and by the California Arts Council. The San Pedro Festival of the Arts is made possible in part by a grant from the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs and by LA County Supervisor Janice Hahn. In-kind donations towards the stage are from Joe Buscaino's Los Angeles City District's office of Jacob Haik, local district director. Many businesses contributed items including Alvas for the dance flooring for the Park, and Peter Benjamins for Sound for the Park. Many of you have contributed help with our marketing! Thanks to our past and present funders and donors, the SAN PEDRO FESTIVAL OF THE ARTS is able to thrive another year and bring the vibrant San Pedro community quality art performances and unforgettable sites and sounds. For more information on the producing company, please see https://LAChoreographersAndDancers.org.

The official Festival website is https://triartSP.com and has a history of many of the past festivals and participants, and this years will continue to be updated through September.
