Panamanian singer Rubén Blades helped shape the New York salsa scene in the 1970s, and he’s been keeping people dancing ever since. The 12-time Grammy and 10-time Latin Grammy winner brings a political conscience and sense of connection to his music, combining nueva cancion and Son Cubano with rock and jazz and music from around the world in a grooving mix that still gets people moving—just ask the rock, reggaeton, hip-hop, and salsa artists who call him an inspiration today. Rubén Blades arrives at the Hollywood Bowl with the Roberto Delgado Big Band, twenty incredible Panamanian musicians who have accompanied him around the world for 13 years.
