“Ranky Tanky” translates loosely as “Work It,” or “Get Funky.” This Charleston, SC based quintet performs the exhilarating music of Gullah culture born in the Sea Island region of the United States. From playful game songs to ecstatic shouts, from heartbreaking spirituals to delicate lullabies, you’ll be mesmerized by the musical roots from which these immensely talented artists are grateful to have grown!
