Rachmaninoff and the Tsar, starring Hershey Felder as Sergei Rachmaninoff and Jonathan Silvestri as Tsar Nicholas II, explores the life of the famous composer who fled Russia during the 1917 revolution but remained deeply connected to his homeland. Set against a backdrop of Rachmaninoff’s most celebrated music, including the Second Piano Concerto, the play delves into his memories and artistic inspirations drawn from his encounters with the last Tsar and his daughter, Anastasia. Directed by Trevor Hay, this production promises a compelling mix of music, history, and storytelling.
