Plain Mr. Smith, written by Chris Banda, explores the complexities of second chances in the aftermath of a nearby shooting at an Inglewood bar. As a Person of Interest enters their lives, the regulars grapple with their pasts and the need for redemption. This staged reading is part of the 2024 MADLab series at Moving Arts, which showcases new works from local playwrights in a commitment to the development of original theater in Los Angeles.
