The Pasadena Symphony opens its 2024-25 season with a special concert led by new Music Director Brett Mitchell on October 26, 2024. This program features Mahler's Symphony No. 1, known as "Titan," and includes Korngold's Violin Concerto performed by acclaimed violinist Akiko Suwanai, a winner of the International Tchaikovsky Competition. Also on the program is Peter Boyer's *New Beginnings*, a celebratory piece with roots in the local community. This marks a significant milestone, as Mitchell embarks on his role, the sixth conductor in the orchestra's nearly century-long history.
