Christopher Carothers returns to Vitello's with "Life, Love, and Hollywood." Originally produced at Coachella Valley Repertory, his latest cabaret show reflects on growing up in a 'Hollywood' home: his father, AJ Carothers was a noted film and television writer whose works include "My Three Sons" and "Nanny and the Professor," as well as several Disney movies and "The Secret of My Success."
"Life, Love, and Hollywood" is a celebration of romance in the bigger sense: drive, determination, optimism, gratitude. The show includes songs by the Sherman Brothers, a never-before-performed song by Anthony Newley, along with songs from his career in musical theatre.
Christopher spent a number of years traveling around the United States and Canada in the Broadway Tours of "Les Miserables," "Grease!" "The Scarlet Pimpernel," and "Jesus Christ Superstar". Regional theatre appearances range from the Ordway Theatre in St. Paul, Minn. to Theatre Under the Stars in Houston, Texas. Closer to home, local theater credits include starring roles in the West Coast premiere of Stephen Schwartz's "Children of Eden," the U.S. premiere of Stephen Sondheim's "Opening Doors" (Sondheim on Sondheim), and such favorites as "Evita," "White Christmas," "Cabaret," and many others. He's performed numerous corporate and cabaret shows throughout greater Southern California, has circled the globe twice as a star entertainer for the super-luxury Royal Viking and Radisson cruise lines, and worked in Las Vegas as a lead singer in the venerable "Jubilee" at Ballys Hotel. He's also been happy to appear in media events at Disneyland for the past eight years.
"Life, Love and Hollywood" is directed by Ron Celona. Musical direction by Sam Kriger
