Highways Performance Space proudly celebrates 35 years of groundbreaking performances with an exclusive event, Highways 35th Birthday!, featuring Sean Dorsey Dance and honoring The Los Angeles Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence with Highways’ inaugural BEHOLD! Award. The anniversary event will take place at Highways revered space in Santa Monica, over two evenings, Friday, June 7 and Saturday, June 8, 2024, at 8:30pm. The evening also celebrates Sean Dorsey Dance's 20th Anniversary Season, as they premiere renowned transgender choreographer Sean Dorsey’s new full-length work, The Lost Art of Dreaming, for its Southern California premiere.

Highways commemorates 35 years of facilitating dialogue among artists, critics, and the public, with a steadfast commitment to inclusivity for marginalized communities of color, irrespective of sexual orientation or gender identity. Following the premiere of Sean Dorsey Dance’s compelling 75-minute dance experience, guests will partake in a celebratory champagne and dessert toast, honoring Highways’ 35th, the dance company’s 20th, and to the BEHOLD! Award recipients. The L.A. Sisters are being honored for their exceptional qualities of Benevolence, Enchantment, Hilarity and flamboyance, Old School Activism, Love, and Devotion to amplify and uplift souls while boosting the experience of Queer identity.
