Gross Old Man, a site-specific adaptation of Chekhov’s Uncle Vanya, is set to premiere in a private artists loft in Downtown Los Angeles. Adapted by Whit Flint and directed by Rory James Leech, this intimate production invites only 25 audience members per night to explore the themes of isolation and lost connections within a family dynamic. The cast features Whit Flint as Johnny, with Natalie Battistone, Emily Hope Vazquez, Anthony Gaskins, Janellen Steininger, Akul Dang, and John Atkins rounding out the ensemble. This contemporary take reanimates Chekhov's tragicomedy for modern audiences, delving into the complexities of human desire and the weight of unfulfilled dreams.
