Scott-Heron is considered the GODFATHER OF RAP because his music reflects the turbulence, uncertainty and increasing pessimism of the times, with a satirical edge told in the tradition of oral poetry and storytelling.

Located in a quaint little Playhouse in the park we're bringing you Poetry After Dark. Poets Jazz House pays tribute to legends past and present on Tuesday nights as they document the history of Inner City Cultural Center for the future C. Bernard Jackson Library.

Parking: The Parking Lot closest to the Playhouse is where three streets merge...Warren Lane and Stepney STREET and North Park Avenue all end at the Parking Lot Entrance. The Playhouse is behind the playground. The park has several parking lots depending on the direction you arrive from and two playgrounds.
