“An Adult Evening of Shel Silverstein” is an 80 minute play consisting of nine one-acts written by acclaimed children’s book author Shel Silverstein (The Giving Tree, Where the Sidewalk Ends). Each one-act shines a light on the raunchy and sinister side of his personality. He uses clever word play and children’s book style charm to expose the underbelly of American culture.
CAST: Sarah Natochenny (Pokémon: the Series / Movies, voice of Ash Ketchum season 9-25), Rona Johnson, Rachel Troy, Will Fulginiti, Harry White, Elliot White.
In “An Evening of One-Acts by Ethan Coen,” Foster Cat Productions remounts their recently sold-out production which was featured in an LA Times article. Over the course of 60 minutes and three comedic one-acts, Academy Award-winning filmmaker Ethan Coen (No Country For Old Men, The Big Lebowski) examines fragile egos- those in the workplace, at home, or even on the very stage in front of you! Many questions are raised… few, if any, are answered.
CAST: Sarah Natochenny (Pokémon: the Series / Movies, voice of Ash Ketchum season 9-25), Scott Thiede, Harry White, Elliot White, Eden Rousso, Cooper McAdoo, Will Fulginiti
“Five One-Act Plays by Wendy Wasserstein” showcases one of the leading feminist icons in the American theatre, demonstrating her irreverence and humanity through this series of short lesser known plays in under an hour. Wendy Wasserstein won a Pulitzer Prize for her play, The Heidi Chronicles.
CAST: Mia Schachter, Isabella Costa, Mariluna Beacy, Lizzy Rudakas, Cooper McAdoo, Elliot White, Harry White
Jan McAdoo, founder of MacPac Entertainment, has extensive experience producing film and fostering storytelling both on stage and screen. Recently she worked on Aaron Sorkin’s The Trial of the Chicago 7. Other projects include the Tony-nominated play End of the Rainbow. Foster Cat Productions (also known as FCP Theatre Group) has established itself as a reputable independent theatre troupe of young and upcoming actors dedicated to putting on lesser-known works of great playwrights and storytellers. Before their sold-out run of An Evening of One-Acts by Ethan Coen, they put up Three Guys Naked from the Waist Down, directed by Groundlings founding member Phyllis Katz. The name Foster Cat Productions is inspired by the artistic team's love for fostering sick and stray cats and finding them forever homes (almost 30, and counting!).
Tickets are $30, please follow the schedule below (also listed on the ticketing link) to see which playwright is being showcased on a given night! Each show performs individually and each night is dedicated to one of the playwrights in our festival.
