This one-woman show is a musical dramedy about the short-lived love affair of two comedic legends. It’s what we’d like to call MODVILLE – or Modern Vaudeville. Presented by their alter egos, Dr. Frankenstein and Roseanne Roseannadanna, we witness a relationship that – over 20 years later – still resonates with the modern heart.
Written and performed by Maegan Mandarino, BIG HAIR exhibits the hysterical nuances, subtle romance, and tearful departure of these two titans of comedy.
Vaudeville-esque musical numbers captivate audiences as they enjoy a one-hour-long performance with film and interview clips presented intermittently to showcase the dynamic relationship between Gilda Radner and Gene Wilder. It’s absurdist, fun theater with a story that leaves you thinking of what could have been.
Maegan has been teaming up with Gilda Club NYC (now Red Door Community) for over four years now. A portion of every ticket purchased is always donated to the charity that Gene Wilder co-founded for Gilda Radner. https://reddoorcommunity.org
