Two Beethoven favorites add up to a perfect night out at the Bowl. Violinist Clara-Jumi Kang—capable of “muscular, dynamic playing” that balances “grandeur with gentleness” (The Strad)—performs Beethoven’s transcendent concerto. The Italian-Brazilian conductor Simone Menezes leads the Los Angeles Philharmonic in the heroic and revolutionary Symphony No. 3.
This performance is generously supported in part by the Kohl Virtuoso Violin Fund.
