Dance Camera West is pleased to announce the schedule for its 21st edition of its internationally renowned dance film festival. Featuring 60+ films premiering in Los Angeles from Thursday, January 19, through Saturday, January 21, 2023, the festival will include both indoor and outdoor screenings, artist talks, special events such as a workshop with award-winning artist Gabri Christa, a filmmaker luncheon followed by a tour of Frank Lloyd Wright’s Hollyhock House, and outdoor sunset screenings surrounded by views of the Hollywood sign and Griffith Observatory.
A global celebration of the power of dance, cinema, and the myriad of possibilities that arise from the marriage of these two artistic mediums, this year’s Dance Camera West film festival will be held at the historic Barnsdall Art Park at 4814 Hollywood Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90027. Parking is free. For more information, please visit http://www.dancecamerawest.org.
The festival’s opening night on Thursday the 21st will feature the Los Angeles premiere of Bella by Bridget Murnane, celebrating L.A. dance icon Bella Lewitsky. The closing night includes Dance Camera West’s signature VISIBILITY program to support underrepresented artists, and the premiere of Sheila, plus other films by special guest artist Gabri Christa.
