A noteable, benefit staged reading of the new play COFFEE STAINS from playwright Scott Damian, will be presented September 27th and 28th at 7:30 p.m. at the Zephyr Theatre, 7456 Melrose Ave, Los Angeles, California, 90046. The proceeds will be going to The Louisiana Disaster Recovery Foundation. The benefit is being produced by Tony Nominated Producer Heather Provost (REASONS TO BE PRETTY, [title of show], "Reality Check").

COFFEE STAINS explores the journey of a family who has ignored their dysfunctional ways for too long, and their destined face-to-face confrontation with their fragility and lies. Set in the most predominate Italian restaurant in New Orleans, Artie's, COFFEE STAINS kicks down the doors of this successful establishment and explores the lies and hidden truths of a baleful family who has hidden behind their reputation and traditions for way too long. Filled with honesty, deception, forgiveness, humility, and a side of marinara, COFFEE STAINS views the breakdown of a family prior to one of the most devastating natural disasters.

The reading will boast the talents of Oscar Nominee, Burt Young (all 6 "Rocky" films, "The Pope of Greenwich Village", "Once Upon a Time in America", "Last Exit To Brooklyn", "Chinatown", CUBA AND HIS TEDDY BEAR), Golden Globe Nominee, Diane Venora (MACBETH, HAMLET, "Heat", "Bird", "Hamlet", "Romeo and Juliet", "Chicago Hope"), Ovation and Garland Award winner, Jodi Carlisle ("The Wild Thornberrys", "Desperate Housewives", THE LARAMIE PROJECT- Laguna Playhouse and Colony Theatre), David Atkinson ("Avenging Angel", "McBride", "According to Jim"), Paul Haitkin ("Passions", "House M.D."), Toby Meuli ("Cold Case", "Grey's Anatomy"), Amy Landers ("Frasier", "Grey's Anatomy"), and Ryan Driscoll.

The benefit is being directed by David Hussey.

"It's a great piece for a great cause," says producer Heather Provost.
