World Premiere Comedy BIG SHOT Opens Saturday 3/3 at Dorie Theatre ImageLead Effect Productions has announced the world premiere comedy Big Shot by Joe Napoli Jr. and John Scacco at the Dorie Theatre at The Complex in Hollywood. Directed by Stan Zimmerman, there will be one preview performance on March 2 at 8pm and opening is set for Saturday, March 3, at 8pm. The limited engagement will run through March 17 only.

The cast of Big Shot will feature (in alphabetical order) Kalinda Gray, Michael Matts, Joe Napoli Jr., and John Scacco. The stage manager is Miranda Richard.

Based on the all too real trials and tribulations of show-biz writers, Big Shot unfolds on the eve of what could be a giant break for two aspiring writers - a face-to-face meeting with one of Hollywood's heaviest-hitting producers. As the clock ticks - and with only one shot to pitch a winning idea - the two embark on a frantic all-night quest to find the perfect story. Running time is 70 minutes.

Joe Napoli Jr. received a degree in theatre from the University of California at Santa Barbara in 1997. He has since appeared in numerous stage productions, including American Buffalo and The Grapes of Wrath. John Scacco is a Chicago native and has performed in many stage and film productions in San Francisco. Much like the characters in the play, Joe and John have started many scripts but completed only one.

Stan Zimmerman recently directed the critically acclaimed productions of Justin Tanner's Heartbreak Help and Paul Shoulberg's Pledge. Other directing credits include Synthesis, Daughter of ..., Blink and You Might Miss Me, Entertaining Mr. Sloane, A Tuna Christmas, Gemini, and Meet & Greet, among many others. He has written for such classic TV series as The Golden Girls, Brothers, Roseanne, Fame, and Gilmore Girls, and more.

There will be one preview performance of Big Shot on Friday, March 2, at 8pm and opening is set for Saturday, March 3, at 8pm. The regular running schedule is Friday and Saturday at 8pm through March 17 only. Tickets are $20 and may be obtained online at www.brownpapertickets.com/event/3325702 or by calling (800) 838-3006. Admission at the door is $25. The Dorie Theatre at The Complex is located at 6476 Santa Monica Boulevard (on Theatre Row) in Hollywood, 90038.
