Working Barn Productions and Bontela Productions' MACBETH Begins Tonight

Working Barn Productions and Bontela Productions will present a six-actor, multimedia look at William Shakespeare's classic tragedy, MACBETH, directed by Peter Richards. MACBETH will preview tonight, October 9 & Friday, October 10 at 8pm and will open on Saturday, October 11 at 8pm and will run through Sunday, November 2 at Edgemar Center for the Arts, 2437 Main Street in Santa Monica.

How does a man become a monster? Shakespeare's tragic masterpiece takes us inside the troubled mind of a murderer, and charts Macbeth's horrifying journey from war-hero to tyrant, from "peerless kinsman" to "fiend of Scotland."

Featuring a versatile six-actor cast, immersive multi-media, and some of the greatest language ever written, this dynamic new production of MACBETH brings immediacy and intimacy to a dark, shocking, timeless classic.

PETER RICHARDS (Director) is a New York-based director and actor who grew up in Santa Monica. Directing credits include: The Aliens by Annie Baker, Elizabeth Rex by Timothy Findley, Dying City by Christopher Shinn, and Brilliant Traces by Cindy Lou Johnson, all at Opera House Arts; Big Love, by Charles L. Mee; 400 Parts Per Million with Blessed Unrest. He is a member of the Lincoln Center Theater Director's Lab. Performance credits: Romeo and Juliet, R&J&Z, As You Like It, Antony and Cleopatra, Measure for Measure at Opera House Arts; Olly's Prison and Dido, Queen of Carthage at American Repertory Theater; Othello at American Stage Theater; From the House of the Dead, Boris Gudanov, and Hamlet at The Metropolitan Opera, among others. TV: "Law and Order: SVU" and "As the World Turns." He is a founding member of Conni's Avant Garde Restaurant, an Associate Artist with Blessed Unrest, and has worked as a guest artist at Bates College. MFA in acting from A.R.T. Institute for Advanced Theatre Training at Harvard University. BA from Harvard College.

The cast of MACBETH features: Thomas Piper (Macbeth), Jenny Greer, Mark Rimer, Christine Sage, Evan Smith and Lucia Yamuy.

The MACBETH design team features: Set Design by Yee Eun Nam. Lighting Design by Anna Cecilia Martin. Sound Design by Matthew Glenn. Costume Design by Jenny Foldenauer. Projection Design by Hana Kim and Yee Eun Nam. Fight Direction is by Mike Mahaffey.

MACBETH will preview on Thursday, October 9 & Friday, October 10 at 8pm and will open on Saturday, October 11 at 8pm and run through Sunday, Novmeber2 at Edgemar Center for the Arts, 2437 Main Street. in Santa Monica.

Performances are Thursdays through Saturdays at 8:00pm & Sundays at 7:00pm.
