Unscreened, a playful evening of new, short works for the stage by some of Hollywood's fastest-rising female writers and featuring a multi-star cast, is set for its Los Angeles premiere presented by Black Sheep Entertainment and Firefly: Theater & Films. Performances at the Zephyr Theatre begin Monday, January 31 for a limited engagement through Monday, March 7. (Valentines Day show, Monday, February 14, is at 7:30pm.) Opening is set for Monday, January 31 at 8pm.

In Prometheus, No!, Emily Halpern (Private Practice, The Unit, Booksmart) explores the story of a troubled boy who stole fire from the Gods. Leslye Headland (Terriers, the play Bachelorette, 2010 Top Ten List of the NY Times) illuminates the complexities of women's identities in relationship to men and each other in Tits. Beth Schacter (Normal Adolescent Behavior) presents Turned Out, a dark comedy about a college girl pursuing a career in her town's thriving sex industry. And in Life Partners, by Susanna Fogel & Joni Lefkowitz (Washingtonienne), a pair of best girlfriends - one gay, one straight - make a pledge never to marry until they both can...only to have the straight one get engaged, touching off a funny journey through the channels of balancing personal and political life. The women will direct their work, and a partial cast list as of this publication includes: Sarah Agor, Julia Garro, Sprague Grayden, Will Greenberg, Steven Klein, Scott Kradolfer, ZOSIA MAMET, Michael Stahl-David, Rachael Taylor, Jesse Williams, and Shannon Woodward.

The show will be produced by Jordana Mollick, Brendan Bragg, Natalia Duncan, and Steven Klein. The design team for Unscreened includes Mark Guirgis (set), Derrick McDaniel (lights), and Laurel Pochucha (costumes).

Unscreened will be presented at the Zephyr Theatre, at 7456 Melrose Avenue (just west of La Brea) in Los Angeles, 90036. Opening night is set for Monday, January 31 at 8:00pm. Performances run Monday evenings at 8:00pm through March 7. Suggestion donation is $25, and seats can be reserved via email to unscreened@fireflyinc.com or by calling (310) 424-5085.

In 2009, principals Brendan Bragg and Jordana Mollick partnered to create management/Production Company Black Sheep Entertainment with the objective of developing and producing a diverse slate of films and managing a carefully picked collage of writer and director clients. In addition to Beth Schacter's A Virgin Mary, Black Sheep is currently producing Charlie Irish with Unique Features for Warner Bros, which Barry Levinson is directing, starring Al Pacino. Prior to creating Black Sheep, Brendan Bragg was the President of Production of film financing company RightOff Entertainment and has been involved with the development and production of A Haunting In Connecticut and The Echo, among others. Jordana was the Development Executive for Brian Koppelman and David Levien and worked on Oceans 13, The Lucky Ones, Girlfriend Experience, and Solitary Man.

Firefly: Theater & Films was founded in 1996 to mount new and classic plays while searching for more rigorous ways to define and measure the success of theatrical ventures. On stage, Firefly last produced Belfast Blues off-Broadway at the Barrow Street Theatre in 2010 and last produced in LA with the LA premiere of Itamar Moses' The Four of Us, which won eight 2008 Garland, Maddy, and Ticketholder awards and nominations. On screen, Firefly last made Make Believe, a documentary on six of the world's best teen magicians, which won the grand jury prize at the Los Angeles Film Festival and the audience award at the Austin Festival and which will be distributed in early 2011. Firefly theater projects have garnered over two-dozen awards for shows in Boston, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Belfast, Off-West End London, and Off-Broadway.
