Playwright/Director Brad T Gottfred, has announced that his most recent work (and only second play for the theatre stage)... Women Are Crazy Because Men Are A**holes will have its West Coast premiere at West Hollywood's Macha Theatre July 25 through September 25, 2013. The premiere is presented by Bleeping Crazy Entertainment in association with Macha Theatre/Films and follows a brief workshop production in Los Angeles and a world premiere in Chicago... both executed during 2011.
Described as a romantic comedy which gleefully examines the ways in which men and women make each other miserable... Women Are Crazy Because Men Are A**holes brings to life five couples who come together for brunch to celebrate "Nicole" and "Dylan" who, after a two month internet courtship, meet for the first time. The event proves to be the last reasonable thing any of them will do that day. Secrets will be screamed. Sex will be weaponized. And, sanity will have its throat sliced.
Women Are Crazy Because Men Are A**Holes will open its run with a cast of 10 including Blake Boyd, Baxter Defy, Brian Drolet, Tunisa Hardison, Mandy Henderson, Nikki Mckenzie, JJ (Jessica Jayne) Nolan, Thomas Sellwood, DeAnna Smith, and John Weselcouch.

BLAKE BOYD (Reynold) - A native of the Lone Star state, Blake has appeared in over 35 theatre, film and teleVision Productions including such features as Hot Guys With Guns, First Kid, The Cable Guy, Rocketman, and the television series' ER, Pensacola, and The Agency. Blake is an original Women Are Crazy.... cast member.
BAXTER DEFY (George) was born and raised in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. In the immediate years following college, Baxter pursued a variety of passions including poetry and professional poker. But, it was when acting found Baxter that he finally came to life. He originated the role 'George' in Women Are Crazy...
BRIAN DROLET (Tim) stars in the upcoming comedy Dumbbells, a feature film he co-wrote and co-produced with a cast that includes Jay Mohr, Tom Arnold, Carl Reiner, and more. He also just wrapped the pilot Damaged Goods, and can be seen on the hit MTV series Disaster Date.
TUNISIA HARDISON (Hillary) hails from Wayne, Michigan. She received her Master's Degree from CalArts Los Angeles and is a dedicated actress/ writer. Credits include Criminal Minds, Tryna Play Some Cards (Best New Comedy Webisode Series/Urban Mediamaker Film Festival 2011) Women Are Crazy... (Hillary), For Colored Girls... (Lady in Brown), Dr. Faustus (Mephistophilis), The Balcony (Irma); and BrevityTV.com.
MANDY HENDERSON (Nicole) is an original cast member of Women are Crazy... and has appeared in multiple national commercials, independent, films, and theatre productions in New York and LA, as well as headlined at West Hollywood's Improv comedy nightclub.
NIKKI MCKENZIE (Phoenix) graduated from Loyola Marymount University with a BFA in Theater Arts. Notable theater, TV and Film credits include Kaiser Permanente's Educational Theater, Blood Wedding at the Odyssey, It's Always Sunny, Happy Endings, House of Lies, The New Normal, Greek, and a series regular role on Spike TV's Joe Schmo Show.
JJ (Jessica Jayne) NOLAN (Mandy) was raised in Dallas, Texas. She has appeared in multiple commercials such as McDonalds, Scotch-Brite, and Toyota; and had a recurring role on The Mindy Project.
THOMAS SELLWOOD (Dylan) migrated west in 2011 from nearby Minneapolis, MN. He graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism. His screen credits include NBC's Days of Our Lives, the feature film Memorial Day, and the Lifetime movie The Real St. Nick. Women Are Crazy... marks his Los Angeles stage debut.
DEAnna Smith (Bella) is an accomplished actress whose credits include the films Bleeding Hearts, The Long Weekend and National Lampoon's Going the Distance. Television appearances include How I Met Your Mother, CSI: NY, House and Showtime's The Chris Issak Show. At the Ventura Court Theatre, she directed Rue Royale and appeared as Stephanie in Sideways, the Musical. She is also an original cast member of Women Are Crazy...
JOHN WESELCOUCH (Benny) moved to Los Angeles in 2007 He has served as a production assistant, and more recently, made his big screen debut in Universal Pictures' spring 2013 thriller The Purge.

COURTNEY CAMPBELL (Mandy) makes her LA stage debut in Women Are Crazy... Film and theatre credits include One Last Shot, The Chocolate Affair; The Crucible (Abigale), Frankenstein (Elizabeth), Lily the Felon's Daughter (Lily), and The Music Man (Zaneeta). She has lived in Los Angeles for two years.
CHRISTINE DONLON (Bella) joined that cast of Women Are Crazy... in 2011. Originally from the Boston area, she holds a BA in Theater from Wagner College in New York City. Favorite roles and notable credits include Chrissy in Wagner's production of Hair, Louie (FX), Gossip Girl (CW), Femme Fatales (Cinemax), and Jackass 3D. She is also a vocalist for a 70's funk and soul cover band.
APRIL ECKFELD (Phoenix) is a Los Angeles/Puerto Rico native and an accomplished actress/writer. Her most recent theatre performance was in French Waitress, (world premiere) by John P. Shanley at the Gene Frankel Theater in New York City (Nylon Fusion Collective). Her writing is featured at New York's BookCourt; and in June, she became a member of the Brooklyn Writers Space Reading Series. She resides in Los Angeles and New York City.
CHRISTIAN MONZON (Dylan) is an American actor and model of Mexican and Spanish descent. Through his studies of the craft at the Carter Thor Studio in Los Angeles, Monzon has gained an intense reverence for the art. He describes acting and storytelling not just as a communication device, but also as a tool that leads to self-knowledge.
CHRISTOPHER POWERS (Benny) is making his LA stage debut with Women Are Crazy... Hailing from Rochester, NY, Chris has been in LA for over 5 years with recent credits including his soon-to-be-released feature film debut in The House with Hell Inside; and a very successful YouTube series titled Bad Ads.
HOYT RICHARDS (Reynold) - A former successful model, Hoyt Richards is co-creator of Tortoise Entertainment, a film production and development company based in Los Angeles, actor/writer/producer Hoyt Richards' primary focus is making feature films. Tortoise's latest project, Dumbbells, a buddy comedy set in a rundown gym, will be released theatrically in the fall of 2013.
ALISON ROBERTSON (Hillary) was part of the award winning casts of After the Fall (Fountain Theater) and Children of the Night (Beverly Hills Playhouse.) Other favorite prioductions include Beau Jest, Noises Off, Dracula. She has also appeared in many popular TV shows and commercials; most recently Go On, Incredible Crew, and Tosh.0.
JUSTIN SINTIC (Tim) - Juistin's stage credits include Bad Evidence, Danny and the Deep, Blue Sea, Women of Manhattan, Suburbia, and The Laramie Project. On television, he was seen most recently in Suburgatory, Criminal Minds and Southland. A graduate of Quinnipiac University, Justin has a B.A. in Communications/Theater Arts and a Master's of Science in Journalism.
LANE YUEN (George) - As a working model in Chicago, Lane's self-actualization was not fully realized, so the finance major walked into his first acting class 8 years ago. Soon thereafter, he scored national commercials with Nike, Garmin, and Fast4wD Ogilvy. His first speaking role in a feature film was in Street Kings 2: Motor City. His appearance in Women Are Crazy... is his theater debut.
JESSA ZARUBICA (Hillary) A native Los Angeles actress and writer, Jessa grew up in local theatrical productions like The Wizard of Oz, The Matchmaker, and Babes in Arms. Jessa expanded into film and TV with roles in The Playbook, Portal, and Merci; and, as a writer, she most recently scripted features such as Wilt, Firefly and the hit web-series SuperCaliforniaListic. Jessa is currently in post-production on the web-series Pop Up which she not only wrote, but in which she starred.
ABOUT THE CREATIVE TEAM:
BRAD T GOTTFRED (Playwright/Director) wrote, directed, and executive produced the feature film The Movie Hero, starring Jeremy Sisto (Clueless, Six Feet Under) and Peter Stormare (Fargo, Prison Break) which played at over 20 film festivals worldwide, winning numerous awards including First Prize at the Rhode Island Film Festival and the Audience Award at the Austin Film Festival. Called "exactly the kind of film worth seeing because of its individuality and creativity" by Ft. Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel. It was released on DVD by Anchor Bay Entertainment and premiered on Showtime. His second feature, Orgies and the Meaning of Life, was released into theaters and on DVD by Cinema Epoch in September, 2009. It played at a half dozen festivals, including the London Independent Film Festival. Gottfred's first play, Marry, F**K, Or Kill, was called "a guilty pleasure for veterans of the single life" by the Los Angeles Times. It went on to an Off Broadway premiere in the fall of 2011. Brad's first web series, Sex and Love Conspire to Destroy the World, was just sold to My Damn Channel for release in the fall of 2013. In addition to produced work, he has been hired and/or had spec work optioned, including by Richard Middleton (Executive Producer, The Artist) and Tom Brady (Director, Hot Chick).
DAVE FRAUNCES (Executive Producer) writes, directs and produces comedic entertainment in many formats. He directed and produced the feature, "Below the Beltway" starring Tate Donovan and Noah Wyle that won the audience award at the Newport Beach film festival. He also writes, directs and produces web comedy spots for Clorox and other Fortune 500 brands. He counts himself as the first fan of Women are Crazy Because Men are A-holes and is proud to be associated with the play.
The Creative Team is rounded out with Blake Boyd and Mandy Henderson serving as Co-Producers; Corey Moss as Music Producer; Costumes and Set Design by The Ensemble; and Joanne Mosconi as Director of Marketing.
