A life-altering story for everyone about how one woman overcame drug abuse, homelessness, female to female HIV transmission, sexual abuse, and ultimately learned forgiveness and leave a legacy. Born into an American Gangster family with no hope of escaping, and after receiving help from a therapist, who encouraged Conscious to remember lost memories, she excelled after forgiving those who tortured her and fell into the lap of her childhood friend Queen Latifah, then Oprah Winfrey's Oxygen media as a talk show host, then to Lady Gaga's management and then to Mark Walhberg's bodyguard, to now working for the biggest comedian in town Kevin Hart.
Dr. Merlè Conscious Soden (Writer, Director, Producer, Actor) - a Brooklyn NYC native has fought to get here and live the American Dream. She went from Homelessness to Hollywood, and now you can call her Dr. C because of her Doctorate Degree in Management and Homeland Security. Her T-Cells are Up and her Viral load is DOWN as she delivers a story of homelessness to Hollywood on stage. She changes into different characters. brings comedy to tragedy and confronts people who come back from the dead, to give them forgiveness as a way of her healing and moving forward in her life. Her one woman show has sold all over the country and off Broadway at the Snapple Theater in NYC, the idea came to her when she was in her 5th year of engineering school in Florida, by the way she has a masters in engineering and an undergrad in engineering. Her book Getting Unstuck (girl to girl, you can be infected indeed) by Conscious, inspired her to turn the story into a one woman show after Showtime Films optioned the work and was unsuccessful with adapting the book into a screenplay. Merlè then studied Whoopi Goldberg, John Leguizamo, and Sarah Jones to develop her own one woman show except she added extra layers including music, video, stills, singing and people coming back from the dead.
