Back by popular demand, Warriors for Peace Theatre presents another night of The Women of Shakespeare. Come and take a journey through the world of Shakespeare through the eyes of glorious women. This is an opportunity for some of LA's most exciting actresses to delve into the most compelling characters in William Shakespeare's litany of work. Under the direction of Susan Angelo, one of the foremost Shakespeare instructors and directors in the Los Angeles area.

Susan Angelo is an award winning Los Angeles based director and actor and founder of the Susan Angelo Studio. She was Education Director at Will Geer's Theatricum Botanicum for many years. Directing credits include I Am Sophie (Pacific Resident Theatre), The Chalk Garden (Will Geer's Theatricum Botanicum), Midsummer Night's Dream (Shakespeare Orange County), The Winter's Tale (Kingsmen Shakespeare Festival), The Royal Family (Will Geer's Theatricum Botanicum), My Name is Rachel Corrie (Will Geer's Theatricum Botanicum) and Twelfth Night (Kingsmen Shakeveespeare Festival).

"My team has been hard at work to make sure we are giving the best show possible. We have found an exceptional cast that has left me in sheer awe and attests to the fact that art indeed transcends and heals," says creative director Hailee Lipscomb.

Ensemble cast includes Vivia Armstrong, Nicola Bertram, Tara Bopp, Olivia Cardell, Eva Ceja, Michelle Grey, Casey McKinnon, Dei Tinsley and WFP company members Simon Lara, Hailee Lipscomb, Natalie Reiko and Linsay Rousseau.

Following the performance there will be a programmed talk back with director, Susan Angelo, WFP Theatre executive director, Christopher Loverro, and the stars of Women of Shakespeare. In keeping with WFP mission, the talk back serves as an opportunity to dialogue with the actors and creative team, who are comprised of military veterans and civilians, about the healing effects of art.

Warriors for Peace Theatre is comprised of U.S. military veterans and civilians with a two-fold mission: provide catharsis for our returning warriors through Shakespeare; and promote peace, healing and foster the principles of global citizenship by bringing veterans of different nations together in the arts. They believe art transcends politics and brings people together and that those who have seen the face of war are the perfect ambassadors to promote peace.

Richard Allen Enterprises is the producer of this year's Off Broadway production of BAYARD and the award winning show, FREEDOM RIDERS: The Civil Rights Musical. Richard Allen is a film/tv writer/director and producer. He has worked in the film and television industry for over ten years. Mr. Allen is currently working on a new tv show, K-POP, and a new feature film based on the life of Frederick Douglass. He has worked with Universal, Warner Brothers, and Disney/Maker Studios as a SPARK Fellow.

The Women of Shakespeare opens at 7:00 on Monday, March 25th at the Hollywood American Legion Post 43 located at 2035 N. Highland Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90068. The Legion's historic art deco bar opens at 6:00pm, so come early and network. Parking at the venue is free. Tickets are $7.50-$15. Veterans, seniors and students are half off.
