Greg Evans, creator of the comic strip LUANN, has written a new show about aging: "WRINKLES - A New OLD Musical."
WRINKLES is described as "a funny, touching and heartwarming look at the challenges and joys of the Golden Years. Three senior couples share one extraordinary day of life-altering surprises while dealing with issues that all seniors, and seniors-to-be, can identify with. It's a must-see show for anyone who's lucky enough to have wrinkles - or hopes to!"
The WRINKLES cast is led by real-life seniors Barbara Minkus, John Shull, Lana Hartwell and Harold McPherson. These four amazing talents bring a lifetime of experience to the show along with impressive Broadway, regional and local theatrical credits. Rounding out the cast are Kiersten Kanaster and Paul Morgavo.
Directed and Choreographed by veteran stage director, Dan Mojica, the show features 14 great new songs orchestrated by Justin Gray, music director for the Welk.
About WRINKLES, Greg says, "Old age is a wonderful subject for a show because it's a time of startling change. I find that when pills don't cure the aches and pains, music and humor really help! Wrinkles is 90 minutes of entertainment therapy, good for audiences of all ages."
WRINKLES plays at the Welk Resorts Theatre, Escondido, tonight, August 8-August 26. Call the Welk box office at 1-888-802-7469 or buy tickets online at www.WelkTheatreSanDiego.com.
Greg Previously wrote "LUANN - Scenes In A Teen's Life," a musical based on his comic strip. That show is now represented by Baker's Plays.
