Watching Paint Dry, a new play by Joey Povinelli, will be presented as a staged reading at The Bootleg Theater on Wednesday, December 5th at 7PM. It is directed by Joey Povinelli and produced by Ella Glabicki.

Eloise Esteban is a world renowned painter with a debilitating illness that never allows her to leave the confines of her home. She is content in this existence as she is cared for by her mentor and captor, Dr. Thomas. But recent events cause her to question the nature of her existence... Featuring stylized dialogue that walks a tightrope between satire and tragedy along with characters that are simultaneously heightened and heartfelt.
Joey Povinelli is a LA-based writer. Most recently, he self produced a web series over the past year titled, The Arturo Edwards Experience, a satire on vlogging and the alt right. He wrote and starred in Sheltered, sitcom pilot which received an independent reading in New York. His work has been described as bright, bold, colorful, sometimes campy, always subversive.
Ella Glabicki is an actor/producer/creator in LA. She holds a BA in Theatre Performance from Marymount Manhattan College. She's been featured in several indie films including Kingdom by the Sea and Sovereign Blue; and the Amazon Prime web series Nuke City. She created a successful art party series as a fundraiser for Planned Parenthood, including a zine launch and an art gallery. Other work includes: Read Receipts, an experimental theatre piece/art installation completed through the Core Company Program at The Orchard Project in Saratoga Springs.
