AMERICAN IDOL Top 5 finalist and former 'WICKED' cast member Adam Lambert continues to thrill audiences every week with his high-wire performances and soaring vocals.

The Los Angeles based Lambert found a creative "home" at West Hollywood's Upright Cabaret at Mark's Restaurant. BroadwayWorld readers will be familiar with that venue as 'Upright' founders and producers Chris Isaacson and Shane Scheel are current members of the BroadwayWorld.com "family" with their 'WEST SIDE STORIES' features seen right here on BWW TV.

The AMERICAN IDOL standout spent many an evening crooning songs in that expressive voice of his on the Upright Cabaret stage, and a few special performances were captured that we are excited to bring you here on BroadwayWorld.com. In this recording Adam Lambert performs Prince's How Come You Don't Call Me which brought The Audience to their feet.

This was recorded at Upright Cabaret's 2nd Annual New Year's Eve Bash on Dec 31, 2009 at Upright Cabaret in West Hollywood. This special event produced by Chris Isaacson and Shane Scheel starred Chad Kimball (Broadway: Lennon, Into the Woods), Leslie Odom, Jr. (Broadway: Rent, CSI, George Lucas's Red Tails), and of course, American Idol finalist Adam Lambert (Wicked, 10 Commandments) with Legendary Los Angeles Music Director Gerald Sternbach on the Baldwin keys.

Upright Cabaret is redefining the cabaret milieu for a new generation of audiences. Founded by producers Chris Isaacson and Shane Scheel in 2005, Upright seeks to celebrate old style cabaret while simultaneously turning it on its ear, bringing young Broadway and young Hollywood together in an intimate live setting. Upright performers run the gamut from Tony-nominated divas to up-and-coming recording artists to film and TV stars.

Upright Cabaret, born and bred in West Hollywood, and has been taking Southern California by storm, with shows in Palm Springs, San Diego, Santa Barbara and Avalon.

Currently, catch the Upright Boys along with Artistic Director Billy Porter performing this weekend May 1, 2 & 4 at Joe's Pub in New York City. A star-studded cast is set to appear including Brooks Ashmanskas (The Producers, Gypsy), Aisha de Haas (Bring in 'Da Noise, Bring in 'Da Funk, Caroline or Change, Rent), Montego Glover (The Color Purple, Memphis), Capathia Jenkins (Caroline or Change), Adam Kantor (Rent), Chad Kimball, Valarie Pettiford (Tony Nominee Fosse), Daniel Reichard (Jersey Boys, Radiant Baby), Shayna Steele (Rent, Hairspray), Thomas, Tracie Thoms (CBS Cold Case, Rent, Grindhouse), Rema Webb (The Lion King) and many more!
