Twitter Watch: Comedy Legend Carl Reiner Seeks Tweeters Age 93 or Older

Are you 93 years of age or older? Do you post on Twitter at least once a day? If so, American comedy icon Carl Reiner wants to hear from you.

So far he's received one response.

After a brief stint as a Broadway performer in the musical revues INSIDE U.S.A. and ALIVE AND KICKING, Reiner gained national prominence as one of the pioneers of early television, as an actor and writer on Sid Caesar's "Caesar's Hour" and "Your Show Of Shows," and as a frequent guest, partnering with Mel Brooks, on Steve Allen's "Tonight Show." He won numerous Emmys as creator, producer and writer of "The Dick Van Dyke Show," where he played the egomaniacal television star Alan Brady.

So it's only natural that, even in his tenth decade, Reiner keeps up with the latest trends in entertainment and communication. He tells the Hollywood Reporter that he enjoys the challenge of Twitter's 140 character limit.

"You're given a certain amount of letters to say something interesting, funny or salient, and it's like a jigsaw puzzle. You have something to solve. I like it."

Reiner's newest challenge is completing his book, "You Say God Bless You for Sneezing and Farting." The title was inspired by an incident when his 4-year-old granddaughter asked her teacher whether she would say "God bless you" when someone farted.
