Towne Street Theatre presents 1969, a new drama by Barbara White Morgan. The world premiere engagement opens Friday, October 10, 2014 and continues through Sunday, November 2, 2014. All performances are at the Stella Adler Theatre, 6773 Hollywood Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90028. Show times are Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 PM and Sundays at 4:00 PM.
In 1969, playwright Morgan has created a snapshot of turbulent times. We travel back to the late 1960's, where passions are fueled by a potentially deadly confrontation between a black revolutionary, a successful black businessman, and his socialite wife. A drama ripped from the headlines of the past, with glaring similarities to the headlines of today.
Kim Harrington directs the ensemble, which features the TST acting company and guest artists, including Jaimyon Parker, Megan Weaver, Kenny Cooper, Carina M. Doyle, Daniel Mark Stafford, Lina Green, Lamar Usher, Andy Ottenweller, Jonathan Harrison, and Samantha Clay.
Barbara White Morgan is a LA based playwright; a member of the Dramatists Guild, the Alliance of LA Playwrights, and Towne Street Theatre. Her produced plays include Daily Entries; An American Tract; The Dance Begins When The Waltz Goes Backwards; Digital Natives; and Babblerousers.
