Berkeley Repertory Theatre broke its own box-office record with the special presentation of In Paris, starring legendary performer Mikhail Baryshnikov. On the first day of an exclusive pre-sale period for the Theatre's subscribers, In Paris shattered the previous record for single-day sales - and achieved that feat before 8 AM. By midnight, this eagerly anticipated show topped the top days for Green Day's American Idiot and Anna Deavere Smith's Let Me Down Easy combined!

Now tickets for In Paris will be made available to the general public. They may disappear quickly, so mark your calendars. Seats go on sale at berkeleyrep.org on Sunday, October 23 at 12:01 AM. Phone and in-person sales begin when the box office opens at noon.

Berkeley Rep invites you to a love story that could only unfold In Paris. Mikhail Baryshnikov takes the stage with Anna Sinyakina and a talented ensemble assembled by visionary director Dmitry Krymov. Based on a story by Nobel Prize-winner Ivan Bunin, In Paris is a dazzling new play set in the 1930s, which mixes movement with a romantic story and spectacular design. This rare international collaboration - told in French and Russian with English supertitles - unites renowned artists born in Russia for a vivid visual experience. Visit the city of light and love with Berkeley Rep, Baryshnikov, and the Dmitry Krymov Laboratory.

"Baryshnikov plies his trade with wonder, grace and more than a touch of genius," the San Francisco Chronicle asserts. "The man looks almost as beautiful now as he did a generation ago, and his charisma grows with the passing decades. No one holds the stage with as much ease and command."

"The Dmitry Krymov Laboratory - a young Moscow-based company - has offered him an exceptional new leading role. Premiered in Finland in August, In Paris contains little to no dance, but as theatre it is resoundingly poetic work... an intimate, melancholy story, where even the jokes are bittersweet," says London's Financial Times. "A chorus of five actors and singers joins the couple, and both the music and the subtle use of video contribute to the atmosphere of this eerie, surprising production."

"Dmitry Krymov is arguably the most critically acclaimed Russian director," declares the Moscow Times. He "is redefining what it means to be a director."

In Paris will play only 20 performances at Berkeley Rep, beginning on April 25 and running through May 13. Presented in the Roda Theatre, this exciting new show is a production of the Baryshnikov Arts Center, Dmitry Krymov Laboratory, and Russian Century Foundation in association with Korjaamo Theater, Helsinki.

Tickets for In Paris start at only $45 - half that for anyone under 30 years of age. To purchase seats, or for more information, call (510) 647-2949 or toll-free at (888) 4-BRT-Tix - or just click berkeleyrep.org.
