Brinkerhoff states, "I have very much enjoyed my tenure as the Literary Manager of The Vagrancy. While I am sad to go, I look forward to the next chapter in my career and my personal life. I do not feel that I am leaving The Vagrancy behind; rather, I am propelled forward by the work and the relationships that nourished me over the past five years. The future is always uncertain. But wherever it carries me, I will have a sense of grounding in the creative hearth that forged my aesthetic and formed my voice as a playwright. I am especially grateful for the creative relationship that I developed with Caitlin Hart. She is a visionary leader, a fearless director and a truly compassionate artist. I am deeply indebted to The Vagrancy and its many wonderful, generous collaborators."
Artistic Director Caitlin Hart adds, "Cort has been a paramount asset to the company. He has been a supportive, creative and grounded collaborator. I am so proud of the work we have produced together and am forever grateful for his constancy and wisdom. He will be greatly missed."
Over the past five years with The Vagrancy, Brinkerhoff facilitated four premiere productions and moderated the writer's group which constructed twenty-three new plays representing the diverse perspectives and voices of Los Angeles. The twenty-three plays received their premiere staged readings in The Vagrancy's annual new play reading series - BLOSSOMING. The final BLOSSOMING series helmed by Brinkerhoff will premiere 23rd & 24th 2016 at The Lyric Hyperion Theatre.
The Vagrancy is so pleased to continue working with Brinkerhoff beyond his departure by producing the world premiere of his beautiful and haunting new play HORSE in next summer's HOLLYWOOD FRINGE FESTIVAL.
