It's going to be three weeks of grown-up fun: somewhere between Nick & Nora and Nichols & May (if they were a couple of over-50 parents with grown kids).
Married since 1990, Mr. Barrosse and Ms. Zielinski have worked in Los Angeles as Emmy-nominated television producers on such series as Totally Hidden Video, Behind the Music, and Little People, Big World. Now, after raising their three kids "from diapers to diplomas," they're going back on stage to do what they were doing before they got married: performing sophisticated comedy sketches and music in an intimate cabaret setting.
Vic & Paul are joined by their musical director, Emmy-winner Steve Rashid, who is coming from Chicago to accompany them on keyboards. Their good friend and local cabaret stalwart, the "Kitten with a Quip" herself, Shelly Goldstein. A writer-performer who has written for every genre of TV, film and stage. Her one-woman shows have played to sell-out crowds throughout the US and UK.
Shelly has written sitcoms, dramas, screenplays, lyrics, documentaries, animation, award shows, jokes and special material for such performers as Steve Martin, Sharon Stone, Liza Minnelli, Cybill
Shepherd, Robert Redford, Paula Abdul, Justin Timberlake, Jeffrey Tambor, Tracey Ullman, Ryan Seacrest, Samuel L. Jackson, Clint Eastwood, Morgan Freeman, Joe Mantegna, Donald Trump, Will Smith, Billy Connolly, Michael McKean, Jane Krakowski, Randy Jackson, Benicio Del Toro, Eva Longoria, Chita Rivera, Susan Stroman, James Earl Jones, Steven Spielberg, Natalie Cole, Normal Lear and Yoko Ono.
For YOU'VE GOTTA HAVE HEART she wrote a theatrical evening about Women and Heart disease (aka THE ANGINA MONOLOGUE) that ran in LA, NYC and was presented in front of Michelle Obama, Hillary Clinton and the female members of Congress.
She is currently making her Los Angeles directing debut with THE VIC & PAUL SHOW, an evening of original sketch comedy in the mold of early Second City or classic Mike Nichols & Elaine May, starring Victoria Zielinski & Paul Barrosse of Chicago's legendary PRACTICAL THEATRE. Shelly is also performing a cabaret set as the second half of the show each night at PUSH Lounge.
