The Grove Theatre is proud to announce the opening of Quilters. Scrap by scrap, piece by piece, a quilt comes together assembled by pioneer women who sew and socialize in a unique expression of folk art. Quilters, a musical with book, music and lyrics by Barbara Damashek, was nominated for the Tony Award for best musical of 1985 and has been produced in regional theaters across the country. Quilters is a musical about the lives of seven American pioneer woman. It focuses on Sarah and her 6 daughters and how they face the challenges of frontier life. Rather than a straightforward storyline, the musical is presented as a series of short tales matched with musical numbers, each portraying an aspect of frontier family life. Grove favorite, Ann Thomas, is featured as Sarah.

Quilters opens Friday, May 27th, and runs Fridays and Saturdays at 7:29 pm and Sundays at 2:00 pm through June 12th. Tickets are $25 and $20 with senior, student and group discounts available.
