The Colony Theatre in Burbank has announced a new production of Alfred Uhry's Pulitzer Prize-winning play, Driving Miss Daisy starring Emmy Award-winner Donna Mills. Directed by Tony Award-nominee Heather Provost, the cast will also feature Broadway veteran James Leo Ryan and stage and screen actor Arthur Richardson. There will be two preview performances on Thursday, November 2 and Friday, November 3 at 8pm, and opening is set for Saturday, November 4 at 8pm. The limited engagement will run through December 10.
Donna Mills is perhaps best known for her portrayal of the beautiful, scheming, manipulative businesswoman, Abby Fairgate Cunningham Ewing Sumner on the long- running primetime drama series Knots Landing, which ran for 14 seasons on CBS. She began her acting career on soap operas in New York and quickly worked her way up to guest starring roles on countless television series including Cold Case, Nip/Tuck and Melrose Place. Her feature films include The Incident, Murf the Surf, Play Misty for Me, Joy, Life Gets in the Way, and the recently completed indie feature Best Mom. Mills has starred in over 50 movies for television including six she produced with her own Production Company, Bonaparte Productions, including Runaway Father, My Name is Kate, The World's Oldest Living Bridesmaid, Dangerous Intentions, An Element of Truth, and Intimate Encounters. She also starred in several TV mini-series including Bare Essence, Remember, False Arrest, Alice in Wonderland, and Hanging by a Thread. Recently, Mills won an Emmy Award for her portrayal of Madeline Reeves on General Hospital. She appeared on the reality TV series Queens of Drama and the limited series Hilton Head Island.

Driving Miss Daisy takes place in the 1940s through 1970s at the height of the Civil Rights movement. The play delicately explores racial tensions when a warm friendship evolves between an elderly Jewish woman and her black chauffeur. It won the 1988 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.
There will be two preview performances of Driving Miss Daisy on Thursday 11/2 at 8pm and Friday 11/3 at 8pm, and opening is set for Saturday 11/4 at 8pm. The regular running schedule will be Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 8pm, and Sunday at 3pm through December 10. There will be no performance on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday 11/23.
