11 West Productions has announced a Hollywood Fringe Festival production of Three Blind Dates: See How They Run!, three one-act plays written by John Doble and directed by JC Gafford at the Stephanie Feury Studio Theatre beginning June 2, at 2pm. The plays are A Serious Person, Tatyana and the Cable Man, and Coffee House, Greenwich Village. The cast will feature (in alphabetical order) Nikk Alcaraz, Jessica Beligni, Eric Bettencourt, Brittany Gandy, Meghan Modrovsky, and Nick Moss.
Performance dates and times are as follows - Saturday 6/2 at 2pm; Thursday 6/7 at 9pm; Sunday 6/17 at 12:30pm; Monday 6/18 at 7pm; Thursday 6/21 at 5pm; and Saturday 6/23 at 4:30pm. Running time is 80 minutes.
Three blind dates - no problem, right? A Navy vet meets a woman with convictions about everything from cannibalism to the crucifixion. Then East meets West as a beautiful Russian woman encounters a Fox-News-loving cable man. Finally, in a coffee house, a lonely man meets a femme fatale.
About Three Blind Dates: See How They Run! - These plays have won acclaim at the LaBute New Theater Festival in NYC and St. Louis, at the Midtown International Theatre Festival in NYC, the Eclectic Company Theatre in Los Angeles, the Nantucket Short Play Festival, the Segora One-Act Play Competition in France, and the One Festival in London as well as the Belper Best Play Prize.
Director JC Gafford has been on the Los Angeles theatre scene since 1986. He has degrees from LA Valley College, Cal Arts, and New York University. He is an award-winning director, designer, and production stage manager as well as theatre generalist who over the last 20 years has worked with such acclaimed actors as Ronn Moss, Michael T. Weiss, and Richard Kind and at such notable theatres as LATC and the Zephyr in LA, Merkin Concert Hall and Provincetown Playhouse in New York, and many others. He is co-founder of Infinitus Theatreworks, a theatre arts consultation, services, and design firm.
John Doble's plays include A Serious Person, Tatyana and the Cable Man, Coffee House, Greenwich Village, To Protect the Poets, Reunion Run, The Mayor Who Would Be Sondheim, Ten Commandments, and The Mortgage. In addition to NYC and LA, his plays have been produced in Nantucket MA; Burlington WI; Binghamton NY; Hudson, NY; Sonora, CA; and in London, Arundel, Westcliff-on-Sea, and Belper, UK. His plays have received acclaim in numerous national competitions. His short stories have appeared in various literary magazines and a collection, Lefty and Other Stories, was published by Clemson University and nominated for the Southern Book Award.
The Hollywood Fringe Festival is an annual, open-access, community-derived event celebrating freedom of expression and collaboration in the performing arts community.
