The true story of an Egyptian founding father of Christianity premieres at the 2017 Hollywood Fringe Festival.

Driven to know the truth, Anthony a member of the Egyptian middle-class forsakes his wealth upon the death of his parents and encloses himself in a tomb. He begins by confronting his psychological issues, then he battles demons who have come to tempt him, finally he receives a transfiguring message from Jesus Christ. He battled his way to an enlightened consciousness.

The Tomb is based upon the biography penned by Bishop Athanasius regarding the man who gave all Christians a clear concept of demons and Satan, who declared that "Jesus is the Son of God" and who established the first acknowledged order of Christian monastics. Anthony lived from 251 to 356 AD, during the period covering the formation of an official church of Christ. Bishop Athanasius was Anthony's admiring contemporary.

The Tomb is directed by Kevin F. Story. Kevin has extensive theatrical experience including directing the world premiere of Dan Rattiner's Peterson's War, recently performing the role of Randy in King of the Road at the Laguna Playhouse, and building the theatre arts program at the SCV Charter School.

Adrian Burks stars as Anthony, the central character of The Tomb. He is a successful television and film actor appearing in notable roles including as a supporting character in the award-winning film Whiplash (2014) and as a guest start on the CBS series Code Black.

Charles Gonzales has triple duty performing three separate and unique supporting characters including Ofer, Rabbi Abram, and Bishop Athanasius. Charles received his training at the Stage and Screen Acting program at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He recently moved to Los Angeles is a member of the L.A. Connection improv group based in Burbank, CA.

The Tomb is written and produced by Ed Sharrow. Ed has a degree in Print Journalism from Boston University but has spent most of his life telling stories, rather than reporting the news. He has two novels currently available on Amazon, Murder in the Fifth a fictional story about a serial killer in Hermosa Beach, CA and The Last Battle: The Life of William the Conqueror which is a fact-based dramatization of the life of the first King of England. The Tomb is Ed's first play produced in Los Angeles.

"When all have told their tale, the account will hardly be in proportion to Anthony's merits." - Bishop Athanasius, Anthony's contemporary biographer.

Before there was a church, there was The Tomb. A young Egyptian man sought the truth about the resurrection in the gateway of death, inside a tomb.
