The Porters are happy to announce on this rainy, LA day the first show of their 12th Season: The Tempest marks the 26th Shakespearean Production the company has mounted in that time.
Longtime company member Alex Parker will make his directorial debut; Leon Russom returns to play Prospero.
The Tempest will open April 28 at the Whitmore-Lindley Theatre in North Hollywood for a 6-week run.
Mr. Parker is an award-winning actor and producer. He joined the Porters in 2010. In the time since he has served as Production Manager for the company, along with acting in and producing over thirteen productions.
Mr. Russom is perhaps most famous for throwing a coffee mug at Jeff Bridges head as the Sheriff of Malibu in the Coen Brothers' "The Big Lebowski," but LA theatre-goers and critics have been able to enjoy his brilliant stage career firsthand. Highlights include award-nominated performances in Buried Child, Henry V, And Neither Have I Wings to Fly, Endgame, and Juno and the Paycock. He first joined the Porters in 2013 as Gloucester in King Lear. Most recently he played the Kings in last year's production of Pericles, a critical and audience hit.
