3-D Theatricals is thrilled to present its first show of its 2012 season with one of the greatest family musicals of all time, THE SOUND OF MUSIC, music by Richard Rodgers, lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II, book by Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse, musical direction by Julie Lamoureux, choreography by 3-D Theatricals Associate Artistic Director Kami Seymour and directed by 3-D Theatricals Artistic Director T.J. Dawson. THE SOUND OF MUSIC will open on Friday, February 10 and perform through Sunday, February 26 at the historic Plummer Auditorium, 201 E. Chapman Ave. in Fullerton.
The final collaboration between Rogers and Hammerstein was destined to become the worlds most beloved musical, and it is no surprise that 3-D Theatricals will bring to their audiences a lavish and epic production which promises to breathe new life into this all-time classic! ABOUT THE CREATIVE TEAM AND CAST
T.J. Dawson (Director/Artistic Director) has been establishing himself over the past few years in the Los Angeles and Orange County areas as a producer/director/choreographer and is thrilled about a new theatre company opening its doors and creating new jobs in a market that needs it so badly. T.J. is so passionate about the arts and has loved the unique opportunity to start a professional theatre company from the ground up where the options are endless. He most recently directed the critically acclaimed productions of The Drowsy Chaperone (Winner of Best Musical – Stage Scene LA) and All Shook Up for 3-D Theatricals (both garnering Backstage Critic’s Pick and Roar of the Crowd). Select producer/director/choreographer credits include: the Orange County premieres and critically acclaimed productions of Side Show, Lippa’s The Wild Party and Bat Boy The Musical which received Critic’s Pick from Backstage, “Roar of the Crowd” award from Gold Star Events as well as several Garland Award nominations from Backstage, CABARET which received Critic’s Choice for “Best Show in 2004,” Into The Woods, Seussical, Peter Pan, Altar Boyz, Spelling Bee, Hello Dolly! and A Chorus Line are among his favorites.
KAMI SEYMOUR (Choreographer/Associate Artistic Director) Her theatre career began over twenty years ago where she has worked as an actor, singer, dancer, director, choreographer, and box office associate! Kami received her B.F.A. from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts/CAP 21 Musical Theatre Program. Favorite Directing/Choreography credits include: The Drowsy Chaperone (Backstage Critic’s Pick, and Stage Scene LA Award – Outstanding Choreography), Hello Dolly! (Stage Scene LA Award - Outstanding Choreography) both for 3-D Theatricals, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Nunsense, 42nd Street, Crazy For You, Pajama Game, Lil’ Abner, Anything Goes, Side Show, Leading Ladies, I’ve Heard That Song Before and Cinderella. Upcoming project will be The Drowsy Chaperone at the Candlelight Pavilion where she will be collaborating with her husband. She is also on staff at The Music Room School of Performing Arts in Orange as Director & Choreographer for the musical theatre program. She is very proud of 3DT’s inaugural season of Peter Pan, All Shook Up, (“Roar Of The Crowd” Award from Gold Star Events), Altar Boyz (OC Weekly’s 2010 Top 10 Best Production & Best Ensemble), Spelling Bee, And Hello Dolly!. Kami is also a member of Actors Equity Association.
JULIE LAMOUREUX (Musical Direction) is happy to join the 3DT family for this production of “The Sound of Music.” She has worked throughout Southern California as a pianist and musical director for theatre companies including Musical Theatre West , the Candlelight Pavilion, Performance Riverside, Main Street Theatre Company, Broadway at the Gardens and Citrus College. Recent musical direction credits include The Most Happy Fella, Annie, Cinderella, Man of La Mancha, and A Year With Frog and Toad. Julie has played in pit orchestras and on stage for shows ranging from Sweeney Todd to The Fantasticks to Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, as well as in New York and Los Angeles for the “Making It On Broadway” intensive. As the mother of three young adult children, all active in musical theatre, Julie often enjoys the opportunity to collaborate with one or more of them on various projects. She holds a Masters degree in piano performance from USC and maintains a private studio in her home.

The Hair/Wig Design is by Cliff and Kat Senior. The Prop Design is by Terry Hanrahan. The assistant stage manager is Jenny Jacobs. The stage manager is Lisa Palmire.

Performances are Thursdays, Fridays & Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 2pm (with added performances on Sunday, February 19 at 7pm & Saturday, February 25 at 2pm).
