The hilarious, ridiculous musical comedy THE RUNAWAY CLONE will be premiering at The Broadwater Second Stage for the Hollywood Fringe Festival. An original musical comedy written by Jonathan Winton Brenner and Pam Eberhardt, The Runaway Clone centers around an Agency in the future that makes and sells clones to humans. One clone escapes and takes with her all of the agency's secrets. In a panic that the world will know the truth which the Agency has been hiding for years, the administration sets out on a mission to retrieve the runaway clone and keep their empire intact. Will the Runaway Clone reach the School for Clones in time? Will the Agency protect their legacy of lies? What's a Sausage Balloon? Find out in The Runaway Clone at the 2018 Hollywood Fringe Festival!
The music made its debut as a staged reading at CAP21 Studios in New York in 2014 and then became a full fledged Equity Workshop reading at Producer's Club in 2015. Following this showcase, CLONE was accepted into The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) for their Developmental Reading series and was very well received.
CLONE was the brainchild of writer Pamela Eberhardt, who reached out to composer Jonathan Brenner to help tie her insane plot around catchy, fun and beautiful music.
BroadwayWorld.com says: "It's the year 2250. Thanks to a mysterious agency, cloning is a very real cure for feeling lonely or missing deceased loved ones. But can memories be cloned too ? It's a madcap premise, and having attended an earlier reading last year, we can promise you it's kookier than it sounds. But book writer Pamela Eberhardt brings plenty of heart to human and almost-human relationships and composer Jonathan Brenner's melodies are remarkable and-truly uncloneable."
The production will play at the Broadwater Second Stage Theatre, the home of Sacred Fools Theatre Company, in the heart of Hollywood. The cast will include original cast members Carson Higgins and Pam Quinn as well as new additions: Scott Golden, Emily Clark, Jeff Scot Carey, Katherine Washington, Adriana Colon, Meghan Allison, Lucas Alifano and Parissa Koo.
