The Other Side of The Story is a first for playwright, writer and producer JoNathan Sherman who is premiering the play at Venice's Electric Lodge for a limited run this October for first-time audiences.

Set against the backdrop of a backyard oasis in Los Angeles, Vietnam vets Wise and Truth play host to six men in The Other Side of The Story - a rich and colorful tragic dramedy tale of brotherhood, friendship, love and betrayal among other themes. The play follows Pierre, Sunny, Eric, Hosea, Will and Chris as they face their own challenges, swap poignant stories and uncover the dynamics and daily issues that men face.

"The Other Side of The Story is a glimpse inside the lives of men of color- a perspective that is rarely represented fully or accurately in media, film and television today", said Sherman. "A plethora of negative images are sadly associated with men and woman of color. It's time for us to talk about that, tackle these stereotypes and change that narrative. That's something we do in the play."

The play will be directed by MARLON RUSS and feature a cast that includes: MICHAEL FOREST, KUALI'I WITTMAN, BRANDEN FLYNN, CHRISTOPHER GARY LAWSON, DARN OLDHAM, and GERALD DEWEY.

Producers for The Other Side of The Story include: JONathan Sherman, EBONY CALVIN and GLENNDON CHATMAN.

Tickets for performances of The Other Side of The Story are available now on Eventbrite bit.ly/2tqxWgy and range from $25-35. Performances: October 12 - Oct 15th. The Electric Lodge is located at 1416 Electric Avenue in Venice, 90291 near Abbot Kinney- the newly deemed "Coolest Block in America".
