The smash hit of the 2006 Broadway season, The Drowsy Chaperone took home five Tony awards becoming one of the year's most honored shows. Hillbarn Theatre is pleased to welcome Actor's Equity member Annmarie Martin to the cast as The Chaperone (you all remember her as Mama Rose in Gypsy).A throw back to those wild and crazy musicals of the 1920's and 1930's, The Drowsy Chaperone is full of laughs, elaborate costumes, and dazzling choreography. One night, the Man in Chair puts on his victrola recording of the 1928 musical The Drowsy Chaperone and magically transports us to a wonderful and wacky world of flappers, starlets, brides-to-be, gangsters as pastry chefs, and of course, a drowsy chaperone. In addition to Annmarie Martin from Santa Clara, Hillbarn Theatre's The Drowsy Chaperone cast features Ron Lopez from Redwood City as the Man in Chair, Courtney Hatcher from Half Moon Bay as Janet Van de Graaff, and Janet's love interest Trevor Meacham from Foster City as Robert Martin. Other cast members from Foster City include: Stewart Kramer as Gangster #1 and ensemble members Alyson Chilton and Sheila McMullen. Cast members from San Mateo include Daniel Lloyd Pias, as the best man George. Mrs. Tottendale is played by Melody Cole from Belmont and is joined by her "butler," Underling, played by Don Cima from San Bruno. Also from San Bruno is Eric Ribeiro as Adolpho and Joey Montes as Gangster #2. Michelle Foletta plays Kitty the chorine. The San Jose contigent of actors includes Michael Carey as Feldzeig, and Katherine Leyva as an ensemble member. Additional ensemble members include Kathryn Han from Los Gatos, Blake Kennedy and Gregory Lynch from San Francisco, and Jessica Ritter from Half Moon Bay. Saving the day at the end of the production is Trix, the Aviatrix played by Glenna Murillo of Gilroy.Videos
