Three-time Tony nominated Broadway producer Susan Dietz joins Reprise! Broadway's Best as its producing director. She will work alongside artistic director Jason Alexander and succeeds Jim Gardia, who moves to the Northern California, having served Reprise! for the past six years. Danny Feldma continues as Managing Director.
Dietz produced the Broadway productions of the Pulitzer Prize-winning Topdog/Underdog by Suzan-Lori Parks; The Lonesome West by Martin McDonagh; the revival of Ma Rainey's Black Bottom by August Wilson; Steel Magnolias by Robert Harling; Mail by Michael Rupert and Jerry Colker; and last season's The Little Dog Laughed by Douglas Carter Beane, and Deuce by Terrence McNally.
She is the recipient of the Drama-Logue Lifetime Achievement Award for her outstanding contribution to L.A. theatre. As artistic director of L.A. Stage Company, she produced the West Coast premieres of Sister Mary Ignatius by Christopher Durang, Cloud Nine by Caryl Churchill, Isn't it Romantic by Wendy Wasserstein and the world premiere of Penn and Teller. As artistic director of the Pasadena Playhouse, she produced four seasons of plays in two theatres. She also ran the Canon Theatre in Beverly Hills for twenty-one years and is the producer of A Night At Sardi's, the popular benefit for the Alzheimer's Association of Los Angeles.
She is currently developing Being Alive, an African-American Stephen Sondheim musical,
conceived and directed by Billy Porter.
She serves on the board of Los Angeles Stage Alliance.
