SummerSounds 2009: The World in Your Backyard
This year we leave behind the SS Global Harmony to explore ethnic Los Angeles - its musicians, the neighborhood they reflect and the world music that informs them. Explore the music that is right here, where diverse cultures influence and enrich one another in one of the most exciting cities in the world.
For SummerSounds 2009, director Debbie Devine - joined by colleagues from the educational theater troupe The 24th Street Theatre - will take you on a journey to discover music, dance and art from the dynamic cultures of Brazil, Mexico and India, AND where to experience them right here at home!
