Studio C Artists and Combined Artform announce a limited run of HOLIDAY DILEMMAS, a collection of four short plays celebrating the Holiday Season.
The pieces range from heartache to hilarity. The show opens Friday, December 8, 2017 continuing through December 16 at Studio C Artists - 6448 Santa Monica Blvd., Hollywood, CA 90038.
HOLIDAY DILEMMAS, offers a bit of something for everyone from comedy to sentimental. Pieces include: MICKEY by Jackson Courtney and directed by C. Jay Cox?. A young man's surprise visit home on Christmas Eve helps to heal long-simmering wounds with his estranged mother. PHYSICAL BEAUTY & OTHER ABNORMALITIES by James Edward Quinn directed by Christopher Comeau. On Christmas Eve, an escort struggles with his humanity when faced with a different kind of client. MARGERIE (SICLAM) by Scott Strong directed by Rochelle Leffler?. Margerie is a talkative, lonely woman who wants to die. Luckily for her, a serial killer pays her a Christmas Eve visit ready for murder. NO EXPECTATIONS by Michael Lamb directed by C. Jay Cox. A drag queen is surprised to find out that he has a daughter when she shows up at his door on Christmas day.
STUDIO C ARTISTS is based in Los Angeles. Studio C Artists is a production, casting, and arts education company founded by director John Coppola and producer Michael Sonntag. The production unit focuses on film and television - primarily features, documentaries, scripted series, and web series. In addition, Studio C Artists develops projects for the stage, with the intention of working some of them into material for the screen. The Acting & Filmmaking Institute is an all-encompassing acting studio, which offers a curriculum of acting classes, career-related seminars, and filmmaking workshops. THEATER ASYLUM/COMBINED ARTFORM - Matthew Quinn and Bertha Rodriguez has been involved in theater production and venue management for over 20 years in San Francisco and Los Angeles. Combined Artform was created in 1998 to produce own productions and co-productions, explore multi-media and be active members in the performance community. For Combined Artform, stand out productions include Santaland Diaries in San Francisco, A Tuna Christmas, Pulp Shakespeare, How to Survive a Zombie Apocalypse- US Version. Matthew and Bertha are active supporters of the Hollywood Fringe Festival. In 2010, Matthew started the Asylum's Best of the Fringe (ENCORE Awards) and in 2016 BEYOND ENCORES. From the ENCORES, he has co-produced extensions of Pulp Shakespeare, Pokemusical, Sunny Afternoon, Meet & Greet and WOMEN (w/Beth Dies), Suicide Notes and Pick of the Fringe (nominated for best variety 2015).
