Award-winning storytellers Bill Ratner, John Grady and Michael Kass to explore fame, bullying, and shamanism in Bobbywood, Little Pussy and Ceremony at Hollywood Fringe Festival 2013.
Bill Ratner, John Grady and Michael Kass met each other on the LA Storytelling circuit. Between them, they have won 12 Moth StorySlams in Los Angeles and New York and performed at countless fringe festivals. When they discovered that they would all be premiering new works at the Hollywood Fringe Festival 2013, they decided to band together in the community spirit of the Hollywood Fringe to promote their solo shows.
Bill Ratner's Bobbywood delves into the search for his uncle, famed radio actor Bob Jellison, better known as I Love Lucy's "Bobby the Bellboy." Watched by tens of millions of fans every week, Bobby staggered into Lucy and Ricky Ricardo's Hollywood hotel suite with luggage, laundry, and priceless dialogue. But after thirteen episodes on I Love Lucy and occasional appearances on The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet and The Addams Family Bobby disappeared. Find out what happened and experience Bobby's hopes, dreams, and hallucinations through the inimitable voice and storytelling of Bill Ratner. More information at http://hff13.org/1191.
Little Pussy brings audiences John Grady's true tales of being picked on, chased down, and beat up, from childhood to adulthood. It's a hero's journey about trying to overcome a lifetime of harassment. But are bullies and the bullied simply the perfect sociological match for each other? If so, will John ever stand and fight? Who or what will save him? Chosen Best of the FrigidNY Festival and awarded Outstanding Solo Performance. From the creator of the sold out fringe hit Fear Factor: Canine Edition. More information at http://hff13.org/1163.
Michael Kass' Ceremony weaves a true tale of love, fear and Ayahuasca. In 2012, Michael met a girl who broke his heart open, quit his job, and journeyed to Peru to delve into the world of Andean Shamanism. What drove him to make such drastic changes? What did he find in Peru? And can a disgusting tasting tea help a man overcome 35 years of history to start anew? More information at http://hff13.org/1168.
