Sterling's Upstairs Announces Headliners For B'way Cabaret

Sterling's Upstairs in Studio City, CA is pleased to announce its April, 2008 roster of headliners Jennifer Cetrone, Michelle Giacopuzzi, Tish Oney and Patty Clark.  Critically acclaimed as LA's premier supper-club located at the legendary Vitello's Restaurant, Sterling's Upstairs is dedicated to presenting the best of Broadway performers and nightclub artists. Now in its twenty-second month of operation, the club has hosted over one hundred prestigious Broadway stars and Television and film stars including Jenna Gavigan, Heather Lee, Tad Hilgenrbrinck, Eric Millegan, Rachel York, Ana Ortiz, Tony Award winner Jeff Marx, Ilene Graff, Stepfanie Kramer, Amick Byram, Mary Gutzi, Tam Bernier Evans, Kevin Earley and Three of a Kind to name but a few.

Jennifer Cetrone in "The Skin I was Born In" – Saturday, April 5, 2008: A native New Yorker, Ms. Cetrone began acting professionally in television, film, and commercials at the age of 13.  She began singing professionally upon receiving her first equity contract at the age of 16.   After graduating high school she continued to work at such regional theatres as American Stage and others across the country playing to critical acclaim as Eve in Children of Eden, Hodel in Fiddler on the Roof, and The Narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.  After four years of traveling, she relocated to Los Angeles where she founded the non-profit organization From the Ground Up (FTGU) Theatre Company; and was cast by Artistic Director Tony Plana (of ABC's Emmy award-winning comedy Ugly Betty) as Beatrice in Much Ado About Nothing and Mrs. Capulet in Romeo and Juliet with the prestigious East LA Classic Theatre. She continues to perform both of these roles and just completed a performance in Washington D.C. for Congress at the Smithsonian Institute. 

Michelle Giacopuzzi – Saturday, April 12, 2008: Along with being a member of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (Grammy's), Ms. Giacopuzzi is a dynamic vocalist that has pleased audiences around the world. From Mexico City to Rome, New York to Hawaii and north  to Alaska, she brings forth a myriad of musical and comedic experiences, which include recording projects for Rhino Records, one called Grease is the Word. She has been a featured performer on ESPN and Fox Sports while singing the National Anthem for the LA Lakers and a George Forman boxing match.   She also performed on NBC's Today Show with Bryant Gumbel and was interviewed by MTV's Martha Quinn. Opening for such acts as Eddie Money (Baby Hold On to Me), Ms. Giacopuzzi has shared the stage with such old time favorites as Tommy Roe, Leslie Gore, Gary U.S. Bonds, Lou Christy, Darlene Love, Freddy "Boom Boom" Cannon, the Diamonds, the Del Vikings, Jimmy Gilmer and the Fireballs and The String-A-Longs, Michelle brings plenty to the entertainment table.

Tish Oney – Saturday, April 19, 2008: Artistic Director of The Peggy Lee Project, Dr. Tish Oney completed her DMA with honors in the field of Jazz Studies at USC Thornton School of Music. A 2006 Diane Warren Award winner, Dr. Oney performs, composes and arranges for appreciative audiences worldwide. She joined Stevie Wonder, Natalie Cole, Nancy Wilson and other stars as a featured vocalist in the 2007 PBS broadcast performance: We Love Ella! A Tribute to the First Lady of Song. She holds two SAMMY Award nominations for Best Jazz Recording (Forever Friend) and Best Jazz Vocalist. Tish has shared stages with several noted jazz artists including Les Brown, Donald Byrd, John Chiodini, Ray Brinker, Ken Wild, Alan Steinberger, Joel Hamilton, and Kendall Kay. Patty Clark – Saturday, April 26, 2008: At 17, Ms. Clark was signed by the NBC TV and radio station in North Dakota, the same station that hired Peggy Lee some time earlier. Patty next signed a contract with the CBS TV and radio station in Chicago and won an Emmy Award for Best Chicago Singer. Patty was the featured singer on four national tours with Bob Hope, followed by Champagne Lady appearances with Lawrence Welk on his ABC network series. Next came the weekly CBS network TV series Glenn Miller Time, where Johnny Desmond and Patty were the featured singers. Ms. Clark recorded her new CDs I Love You, with a 55 piece orchestra, and Little Lovin' to Brazil, with a 38 piece orchestra. Recently, she introduced her CDs in her one woman show at the Lucille Lortel Theatre in New York, Coconut Grove Playhouse in Miami, and Pizza on the Park in London at which she will return to headline in May. 

The package price for each of the above headliners is $50 dollars per person and includes a fabulous four-course, prix-fixe dinner with a choice from three different entrees, and a one hour performance.  

Dinner seating for all Saturday engagements is between 6:30 and 7:00 pm.  Showtime is at 8:00 pm.  

Dinner seating for all Sunday engagements is between at 5:30 pm and 6:00 pm.  Showtime is at 7:00 pm.

In addition to Sterling's Upstairs, Vitello's also offers outdoor dining, a luncheon buffet, and a unique variety of carefully selected wines. Widescreen plasma televisions are located throughout the restaurant.  Informal open mike music nights (a long-time feature at Vitello's) is still performed in the restaurant's downstairs Green Room, while Jazz nights are also offered weekly.

For over 30 years, Vitello's has been known for its outstanding Italian cuisine, romantic atmosphere and superior service.  It is also known world-wide as one of the most famous restaurants in the United States.
